Libman-Sacks endocarditis

Meaning

1. A form of non-bacterial endocarditis seen in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), and the most common cardiac presentation of that disorder.

Etymology / origin

First described by Emanuel Libman and Benjamin Sacks at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City in 1924.
