- Shropshire Council, a local government unitary authority which replaced the county council in 2009 in all of Shropshire except Telford and Wrekin.

- One of an English breed of black-faced hornless sheep similar to the Southdown, but larger.
Etymology / origin
From Old English Sċrobbesbyriġscīr, from Sċrobbesburh (“Shrewsbury”) + sċīr (“shire”).
